Subject:Last nights show 10/12/09
What can I say....I thought I was going to be in for a patronising childrens show where I would be bored after 10 minutes. I eat my hat! As an adult with a 13 year old who is Potter mad, I do not remember when I last laughed so much! I was in tears (of laughter) and was hurting from laughing so much. I do not like shows normally with audience participation but this show is another level! Loved it from begining to end. Great fun and definetly will see them again. The guys involved deserve alot of praise entertaining both adults and children (which is not easy to do)and I was surprised to see so many adult couples without children at the show and would recommend to any age. Fantastic evening and really happy we went. I took leaflets for the show to work so others will go and see them. Well done lads! You have really given us a night to remember and got us in the mood for christmas!!!!! 10 out of 10!

On Sunday 11th November three generations of my family (aged 77, 48 and 7) sat in the front row of Neath Little Theatre to watch your show. What an amazing show! The three of us laughed for the duration and thoroughly enjoyed two very talented young actors take us through the 7 Harry Potter books. I even got to play Quidditch! I will look out for further performances in my area and will definately be there to watch. Well done to you both. Keep up the good work!

Hello, We saw the show in Lancaster and we all enjoyed it very much. My daughters, aged 8 and 5, found it hilarious (especially the prophecy; 'One shall live; and one shall die!') I found it funny too, but they're still saying that weeks later. Oh, and the warthogs. Sophisticated humour. Marvelous affectionate parody. Can I be pedantic though and point out that though you say the show has no CGI, you do have a Powerpoint presentation and what is Powerpoint if not CGI? Are you going to expand the show further to take on board The Tales of Beadle the Bard? Thanks again. Bye for now, Nick.

I was one of the many who were at your show during Quartz @ Queen's College, Taunton. Dan trying to shake everyone's hand and having to stretch like mad at bits...hah. Anyways! The show was fabulous, brill...oh, where do I go on? The gags! The expressiveness! The variety! =D And involving Ryan (the Slytherin seeker during the evening show) also made my day, but that's one of the many gags that did. Keep it up, guys! Perhaps when the new Potter-related book by Rowling comes out on the 4th of Dec (The Tales of Beedle The Bard), you guys can look at incorporating some things? :)

We,being 6 harry potter fans came to see your show potted potter yesterday at number 8 in Pershore(we were on the front row). i have to say i think it was one of the funniest things i have ever seen. i haven't laughed so much in a very long time. we laughed so much,we cried and possibly almost wet ourselves!!! it is the funniest show. you were both bloody brilliant as Ron would say. i would love to see the show again.....my son(12)who knows the harry potter books backwards thought you were great,he would have liked to have been the seeker....but can't have everything!...my daughter(7)hasn't read the books but she still found it very funny and laughed so much.... a great show fun for all the family no matter how young or old......highly recommended....you'll laugh so much......

We are two teenage Harry Potter fans who watched you last Friday in Lancaster. We kinda thought it might be a kids show but it was really funny!! We liked the references to Daniel Radcliffe in Equus and Dumbledore being gay. Gutted we didn't get picked for Quidditch though haha You both make pretty hogwarts students ;) haa xx

We missed this show last year so I made sure we saw it this year. Out of all the shows I've ever seen, or taken my kids to (with the exception maybe of the Cirque du Soleil for their jaw-dropping skills) this was by far the most entertaining and I think I enjoyed it as much, if not more, than my 2 boys. Dan and Jeff are very talented and the mixture of how they told the 7 HP books was very clever and kept the audience entralled and entertained throughout. We are all gutted that we didn't have time to see Potted Pirates now! Next year definitely and they also mentioned that they may be creating a new show. We are definitely big fans of these two and I wish them all the success they hope for.

Subject:Potter AND Pirates!
Hi, Dan and Jeff - home after Edinburgh Preview time, and I'm glad you have a website, as I so wanted to thank you for both shows. (I did have a few words w. Dan, before the performance of Potter on Friday 1st, and if I really am a "glutton for punishment", then I can think of no punishment more acceptable!) With Pirates (the previous day), and even more with Potter, I hardly stopped laughing, and particularly with Potter there were moments at which I could barely catch my breath. This, for an ageing-if-youthful-inside 48 year old, can be a dangerous thing. Take this as a very real and heartfelt compliment when I tell you that comparison with Morecambe and Wise came to mind before I had read the review that said the same thing. To this day, I recall M and W with great affection, and it's a true joy to have seen the two of you, M and W for the iPod generation - you share a truly delightful gift, and I thank you for the way you share and communicate it with your audiences. My very best to you both, and I hope to see you onstage again in the future. Yrs with all good wishes, Mark Ponsford

I saw this show 2 hours ago and it was amazing. I was a bit cautious when I first heard about it as I thought it was for younger children-not hardcore HP nerds like myself...how wrong I was. "Merlin's beard that was Hilarious..." My friend got me a ticket for a birthday present and it's one of the best presents I've ever had. I liked the way that there were subtle references to Dan Radcliffe's(curse him the acting failure) performance in Equus(however you spell it) and the whole "Dumbledore is gay, and that's OK, I don't think him any different than I did yesterday"(Justin Finch Fletchley and the sugar quills-one of the more obscure wizard rock bands, I'd say 'dumbledore is gay' is one of their best songs, for a decent band google for 'ministry of magic' or 'oliver boyd and the remembralls' or the band that started it all 'Harry and the Potters' but I need to get back on the topic of the show...) It's awesome-I'd recommend for all age groups, so long as they've read the books! (And maybe even if they haven't...)

Thanks for the show tonight. You coped incredibly well with Richard our son, though when you chose him to be seeker we nearly ran out rather than witness the resulting chaos. Richard has Asperger's syndrome you see, they simply can't stick to the rules. Never work with autistic children or animals?? I nearly wet myself, hilarious.

Wow, I had some quality Father and Son time with my 9 year old son (he had to skip being in the school show to go), and boy was it quality!! We were on the winning Slytherin Quidditch team, with our star keeper who wrestled the golden snitch to the ground- you didn't see that coming did you?? Great show, highly recommended, and if you want to do the show to The Wells Cathedral Junior School, let me know and we'll book you in. Can't wait to see you guys again WELL DONE.  I've seen the show for the first time in Edinburgh. When I had the opportunity to travel again to the UK (I'm from Argentina), I looked for tour dates in the website and I was pleased to see that they were presenting Potted Potter in Stratford. So, I took my non-English-speaking mum and prepared to have a blast. And we did! Even she, who didn't understand a word, laughed so hard that had tears in her eyes! It's a delight to see Dan and Jeff in action. I hope to have the opportunity to see this two extremely talented actors again some day. Salut from Argentina!

Guys I absolutely loved the show, so inspired! I was sitting right near the back tonight in Southend, and just couldn't stop laughing. My boyfriend loved it too! Especially loved the fight between Harry and Voldemort and playing Quidditch. Wish I'd volunteered to come "find" the snitch, but as I'm 23, I guess it's best to let the kids do that part. Thanks again for a wicked evening, good luck for the rest of the tour.

The show was the best thing in the world! Is any one up for some Quidditch! I think the show was better that the movies because it was really funny!

Somebody lives! And somebody dies!! * There may be spoilers in this post* God, that was the funniest thing I've seen in my life. We were all laughing before the play even started - shaking hands with everyone in the audience individually! LOL! We were really lucky that it came to us, and if it's coming anywhere near you, go and see it. (WARNING: It's likely you won't be able to breath for laughing, and you'll wake up with sore ribs and a stitch in your side.) Its hard to think of highlights (it was all just so fantastic, I can't think of a time when we weren't laughing) but I think I'd have to choose the Quidditch, the fight with the basilisk in the 2nd book, the impression of Dumbledore in the 5th book (somebody liiiives! And somebody dieees!), the song at the end. OK, as I said it's hard to think of specific bits that were better than the others. I've mentioned most of them..... And the dragon in book 4! I forgot that one! And Ron and Hagrid! Actually there weren't any parts that weren't highlights.....I'm ranting a bit now...... Anyway! Guys, you did a FANTASTIC job. That's an understatement. Keep going, and make this into a film or something! I wish I could see it again, I could watch you two all day. People of planet Earth: GO AND SEE IT! THAT IS AN ORDER!

Thanks Fellers! That was about the funniest show I've ever seen - my sides were aching with laughing so much. I couldn't beleive that so much of the stories could have been put across with just 2 guy's and not many props! I hope you tour here again soon, as my son and I will definitely be there. Thanks again. Sara & Adam

Great show, and a real January tonic with more (cheap!)laughs per minute than Pixar or Panto. Too many highlights, but Dan's HELLO,I'M HERMIONE GRANGER early on in the proceedings was particularly memorable and Ron was almost as disturbing...well worth a 100 mile round trip & will aim to catch up on all the jokes missed from laughing too much next time out- thanks.  Hey guys! Your show is FANTASTIC!!!! As a fellow Caulkhead, Jeff, I think your show was the funniest thing I have ever seen! The audience participation was great, the special effects were *coughs* brill, and the comedy duo between the two of you was amazing! For those of you who havent seen the show, GO SEE IT!!! Its well worth it just for the laughs, even if you've never seen the films or read the books. Oh, and watch out for the soooooo scary 'Real live fire-breathing' dragon!! Thanks again for the funniest thing Ive ever seen! xxx

Just like to share with you the fun we had at 'Potted Potter' last night. I took my daughter & 5 friends (a mixture of some who have read & some who have not) for her 9th birthday treat. We had back row seats which worked out great as the girls could stand if they could not see. They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves & enjoyed the audience participation; the girls made some timely comments which had the performers & sound guy laughing. My daughter said, "I was laughing so much, another laugh started before the first laugh was out!!" They were all still talking about it in the playground this morning.

Went to see you guys last night at the Horsham art center with my parents and brother. OMG pure slapstick silliness. We laughed so hard it hurt! I had tears in my eyes! Loved gangster Ron, scottish Hagrid and Dumbledores beard! The quidditch game was maddness, I did'nt get a chance to score but our side (gryffindor) won! The duel and the'I will survive song' at the end was probaly my fave bit in the whole show :D The kiddies were falling out of their seats and there was enough to keep the adults entertained (some of it went right over the younger ones heads) LOL you guys are legends, loved it!! Thanks for some great entertainment, 5 star :D

Congratulations on a superb show for adults and children. I see a lot of work in my job and it's fabulous to see such a simple concept delivered so well and with such enthusiasm, wit, charm and timing, not to mention the moments for grown ups and the very topical references! From shaking the audience's hands one by one to the Quidditch game that ranged across the theatre everyone was engaged and my daughter laughed until she ached. I understand you guys were particularly lively in the later show and I hope you had as much fun as we did. There are many more venues in Wales so don't stay away too long.

Absolutly brilliant show guys - especially the ad-libs. Was terribly disappointed that the huge animatronic dragon was only on for a few minutes, but it was well worth every penny you paid for it... I was sitting next to a teacher who didn't laugh once; don't worry, she's always like that and was laughing like heck inside.

Today was hilarious. Thanks for doing it. I waslaughing from the moment I sat down. And may I also add the we were not looking for sweets Aimee(One of the girls next to me, yes I know she has the same name as me, we're not very original in Tredegar) lost her ring when we were playing quiditch. (I just read that sentence and realised how unbelievable that sounds. Oh well) We found the ring in the end. And Dan I love you too :P All in all a wonderful experience. And we were even considering stalking you and going to see the show tomorrow. Hope the googly eyes are fixed by tomorrow. Aimee x

We caught Potted Potter at Buxton Opera House last night and everyone of us from the ages 4 to 40+ had a really, really, REALLY enjoyable time. I'll admit that I was a bit apprehensive about what we were going to see but I needn't have worried. We've seen quite a few "top-line" comedians at Buxton Opera House - Peter Kay, Ardal O'Hanlan, Dylan Moran - but I don't think any of them came anywhere close to producing the amount of laughter that Dan and Jeff coaxed out of the audience. Well done and best of luck with the show.

Thanks for sending Potted Potter to The Plough. It was excellent. I brought a group of 27 adults and children up from Bude and they all loved it. Perfectly pitched at a family audience, exquisite timing, moments of comic brilliance, breakneck speed and energy yet beautifully underplayed by Dan and Jeff. I haven't read any of the books yet loved every minute. It was great to look back and see 100% smiling faces of all ages throughout the theatre and throughout the show. Please pass on our thanks to the company.
